Gotcha wondering about the title? It simply means 'half' as in half of 2011 is over! Yeah, I'm wondering where it went? Last post was the middle of April. Inexcusable. Sorry. But, hopefully, you'll be delighted with the things I'll be showing you today...
First of all, a lovely new granddaughter....

Kennedy Joy
May 24, 2011
She is an absolute delight to her big sister, Morgan, as well as the rest of the family. So, since DD#2 has two little girls, we decided to have somewhat of a 'matching' birth sampler. Luckily,
JCS had a matching piece, and with a few color tweaks, it works!
The original...

Swapping out the purple, putting in pink. Kennedy's baby book has lots of pink and yellow...
and here's my progress so far...
On to the next project. Knitting. Wanted to do a bit of a lacy sort of scarf. I pulled out some Loopy Ewe anniversary yarn. If I recall correctly, it's Dream in Color Joy in the Morning colorway. Pattern is a freebie from Knit Picks, Winter Flame. I tried my hand at using a lifeline, and it's been truly a lifeline! Sometimes I drop a stitch and it's great not having to panic and frog the whole piece! (Which is way normal for me... perfectionist that I am!)

Dream in Color 'Joy in the Morning'
I am enjoying the lace thing. Maybe more finer gauge to come! And since I did some traveling and babysitting of a busy two year old, I thought I better have something with a worsted weight for mindless knitting, so I came up with this...
Basketweave Scarf by Ann Budd
Anzula Superwash Merino 'Forest'
I fell in love with this yarn at a LYS. It looks more green apple to me than forest. I also bought some Madelinetosh yarn which I will save for another post.
As I look at my noble list of goals at the beginning of the year, I chuckle. A girl can dream, can't she? Yes, I'm working on two scarves, but not the originally planned ones... Yes, I was planning on a birth sampler (the BIG ? mark in the middle of the picture). Oh, well, as long as I'm having fun. That's the ultimate goal here...
Consider yourself pretty much up-to-date!
