Not because I want to….

post, that is…  I had to dig my camera out (and the battery was dead) to take a picture to post a yarn picture to enter into a contest to win a gift card to a yarn store.    Like I need more yarn.

Since I ended up taking pictures with my phone, I downloaded all the critters to my computer, updated my Ravelry page, and now time to update my blog!

First, may I present my first COMPLETE pair of socks!  They are worsted-weight, toe-up, two-at-a-time, magic loop!  Super simple…no picking up stitches on the heel flap…no muss, no fuss!

These socks come from the KNIT Freedom website.  I highly recommend anything from her site.  I bought the Knitting Superstar ebook, and it is definitely worth every penney.  She just calmly talks you through each step along the way…

And then, at one time, I bought yarn to crochet a baby blanket, the Cabana Blanket to be exact.  Well, that puppy was pulling and puckering and I was fussing with it and I thought no amount of blocking was going to cure that…so I ripped it out and found a lovely knitting pattern that used the same amount of yarn in the same amount of colors…may I present….

This is called Playful Stripes by Meredith Shepherd and can be found/bought on Ravelry.  It was an easy knit, but lots of ends to weave in!  It is the smaller of two sizes.  I used Berroco Weekend yarn…very nice yarn!

Scrolling through previous posts…I do see that I never posted a picture of my Drunken Path Scarf.  That was another project that got thrown in the closet out of frustration…but I did restart and it is done!

Hopefully I won't wait 7+ months to post again!  I am currently working on Jeweled Cowl with Angula lace weight yarn and beads, and after a restart, it is turning out amazingly beautiful!  And I also started a pair of toe-up, two-at-a-time socks out of sock weight yarn.  See you soon!
