Happy 2012!!

Can't believe 2011 is history!

I looked back at my stitching/knitting goals for 2011. Ha Ha! Only one item of the 13 even got worked on! And that was the mystery question mark...the birth sampler. But I did have six finishes.

So what have I learned? Don't pressure myself. Just go with whatever for 2012. Sounds relaxing, doesn't it? We'll see how that turns out.

So, we went to visit the grandchildren (and their parents) between Christmas and New Year's. DD#2 hijacked me to the little yarn shop in town, and found they were having a 'going out of business' sale. Sad. But you should see my haul! My first round, I couldn't believe how little it cost, so I grabbed a bunch more. So, may I present...

The purple on the left is Aslan Trends Santa Fe Kettle-Dyed color way 'Purple Heart'. The
other three colors are Plymouth Yarn Company Happy Feet color ways 13, 14, and 16. Can't
believe there are no names besides numbers! You may notice I have three skeins of color 14.
I'm planning on using this for 'Math for Kathy' cowl on the WEBS yarn store website.

Must be the bone-chilling cold weather here in the Central Valley, but I'm in the mood to knit blankets. The Umaro Throw is up first. But I have my eyes on these babies...

I am currently cranking out some little socks, refining my sock knitting skills. I watched a video on You Tube, and the gal made picking up stitches along the heel so easy, that I investigated her website, and ended up buying an ebook called, Super Star Knitter. I can't believe the things I've learned and improved on. Maybe after I finish knitting the sock I'm working on, I'll show you the before and after...
