Got some finishes and pictures to share...enjoy!
Bent Creek Snappers
Close up..
I did it in a 4 x 3 arrangement instead of the original 12-in-a-row deal. I thought that would be a pain to frame. This came out to fit in a standard size frame. Thinking of maybe framing it myself. We'll see how brave I am! Also, some stitchers opted to sew cute buttons on instead of the snaps, but, I don't care how cute the buttons are, that's a lot of sewing! I opted to 'snap' the snaps on and call it good! It was a bit fussy...had to enlarge the hole with a crochet hook for the snap to poke through...but it is finished!
On the knitting front, I've been working on Mukluk slippers. Here's a picture of my first one. It's amazing to follow directions having no idea how this is constructed and end up with this!
I did have a little problem, though. The pattern instructed to 'bind off loosely'. I did. I swear. But I knew the instant I did it, it was too tight! My heart sank. Then I found a video tutorial online that showed how to 'undo' a bind off. I tried. This yarn is a pain in the butt. I finally just yanked and picked up stitches. Not video worthy, but I got the stitches live again so I can try a different bind off method.
And then the pattern says to overcast the bottom seam. Now it would be very uncomfortable to walk on these with a seam up the middle, don't you think? So another internet search resulted in some video tutorials to show how to sew a bind off/bind on together. That is my goal, hopefully it will work. Hate the yarn. Love the color. Joann Fabrics Sensations 'It's a Wrap'...description on label says...color-wrapped plies with a touch of wool....blech... colorway is Blue/Turquoise...
Should be a delightfully fuzzy good time!
