I finished up my July Snapper last night...less than a week into the month...woo hoo! There is hope in getting caught up!
So now for my 'ah-ha' moment. I was reading The Yarn Harlot's blog the other day. She was going on about how she was knitting this mitten and it was way to big, so she started over with a smaller needle and it still was too big. She finally checked the size of her needle, and it was a size too big! Got my mind a thinkin.... I started knitting a sock on an addi-turbo circular needle. The sock looked to big, but I kept going, because it's just such hard work to start over!
Well, I stuck the needle in the gauge holes...and guess what? My needle that I thought was a U.S. 2 is a U.S. 3! No wonder it was so big! What's funny is that I have the receipt from when I bought it, and it clearly says a 2 on there... somebody must have been trying them out and got them mixed up! I was thinking maybe I was a 'loose' knitter... NOT!
