I'm Bleeding!

My cross stitch, not me, thankfully! I finished stitching With All Your Heart. Mindlessly, the instructions said to put fusible interfacing to reinforce the center buttons. And the instructions for that say to press with damp cloth. A recipe for disaster. Yes, it was instant! Bleeding everywhere! I quick stuck it in ice water, and it looks fine. We'll see again tomorrow when the sun is shining.

So, inquiring minds want to know...how do you get the wrinkles out if you can't steam????
