Highway robbery...

I'm back! I had a wonderful time visiting my girls in the Midwest...came home with a lovely souvenir...a cold. Lovely. At last I am feeling better and decided to report in. I realize now I still need to take a couple of pictures or maybe I won't!

First off, a finish! I finished Bent Creek's Life is Good Ewe. I had started this one in Hawaii and finished it up when I got home from Minnesota. Nice to finally have another finish for 2008...my list is seriously lacking!

When I'm in Minnesota, on the way to the airport, I try to swing by Stitchville USA and buy a little momento of the trip. I purchased the fabric and floss to do Shepherd's Bush Scatter Sunshine, plus I got a clear stitch counter.

OK...now in regards to the title of this post. I hate venting. I hate getting screwed. Unfortunately, when I get screwed, I need to vent. Sorry. Here goes.... If you desire to live in a Pollyanna existance, just stop reading. Please.

During the highly popular Online Needlework Show, I spotted a fun design by the Kooler Design Studio entitled Merry Christmas. OK...I needed it...I had to have it. Well, I went to the KDS website, and they had it for $12 plus some highly ridiculous shipping fee. The only other website that had it was Down Sunshine Lane. They had it for the same price, but their shipping was cheaper...so I bought it from DSL. Now I will say, the customer service was excellent...shipping was fast...no complaints about them. What really ticked me off was what I got from KDS for $12. It was basically the chart printed off a printer, plus a computer generated image...no nicely printed leaflet, no real picture glued to a cover sheet.....just 3 pieces of copy paper with said chart...no suggestions as to fabric. You get my drift. Was that really worth $12? Not in my book! Ugh!

Then to add to my venting mood...I got a letter today from the car rental company wanting my insurance company information for damages that had occured to the car during my usage. Excuse me? I should have checked the car carefully before getting it in...but, man, I wanted to get on the road. There was a lovely scrape on the bumper...I'm sure goo gone could have cleaned it up nicely. Plus, it was dark when I arrived...and it was a black car. Good grief. I called the 800 number and a nice lady took care of me. She told me to disregard the letter, she would write it off. You know, if I had done it, I would 'fess up and pay...but I didn't, so I won't!
I hope it truly goes away and leaves me alone. I loved this particular company, but it has left a bad taste in my mouth...just one lousy anal employee spoiled my lovely trip...perhaps it's time to find another car rental company to be my new favorite. Plus another lesson learned? Never rent a black car...everything shows!

Now on a happy note. Yesterday was Pastor's Appreciation, and well, since, hubby is a pastor, I benefited! We were presented with a lovely gift card to a favorite restaurant of ours, plus some gorgeous roses.

Thanks for listening. I feel much better now. Really I do.
