Scratch 'em off the list!

Wowsers! September was productive for 'happy dances'. First off is "Please Don't Eat the Daisies" by Victoria Sampler... Please excuse the warp in the fabbie...I took a picture in the Q-snaps...believe me, I'll get that straightened out when I mount it. Just happy to get that butterfly finished. I actually made that from scratch using ribbon and wire and a ton of patience.

Next is Alphabet Heart Sampler from Better Homes & Gardens Australia. This is a freebie from their website. I used the suggested DMC linen thread thinking it would be fun to try this new thread. I HATED IT! If I had to do it over again, I would use the regular floss. I didn't have the suggested linen fabric on hand, so I used 25 ct Lugana ecru.

Now for an update on "Pledge of Allegiance" from Stoney Creek. One of my goals for the month was to sew on the buttons and frame. Well, I'm thinking instead of framing, to make it into a little pillow. I bought some fabric, and I'm thinking it will work for me just fine. I would have sewn it yesterday, but my back decided to give me grief. I didn't think it would be a good idea to be bending over my sewing machine, so it will have to wait patiently and do it later.

There's a lot of excitement on various boards with the "50 Project Challenge". Basically, no new charts until you complete 50 projects. Well, I'm thinking 10 projects would be more my speed. You see, from the sounds of it, my stash is not as 'huge' as those 50ers...and, plus, my projects tend to be large ones. Rarely do I do the small, quick stitch projects. So, I'm committing myself to completing 10 projects before I buy anything new. My one exception would be to buy the Oct. Essy's Friends at Elegant Stitch. What great motivation to clear out some projects. I know I'm drowning with all the stash I own.

Well, that's it for today. I will be back sometime this weekend to discuss Sept/Oct goals.
